Problem: Safari OSX users are unable to create their set of books in some cases, as the fiscal year end date (in certain formats) is not accepted by the database, but is seen as a date by flowlog's form validation code. This keeps flowlog from returning the user back to the form with a user friendly error message and instead gives them a general error page and creates an automatic bug report.
Reason: Safari in Mac OSX still doesn't support the html5 date input for some reason. This means flowlog cannot show a calendar date picker like it does for Firefox and Chromium/Chrome. With Safari, only a empty text input box is shown. This leaves the user to guess as to how to format their date.
Result: Safari is proprietary and not an officially supported browser for flowlog, but formatting the date as "YYYY-MM-DD" (without the quotes) works for Safari on OSX and Firefox and Chrome work with the html5 date input on OSX.
